
By bringing scientists together with students, the applications for the Science Talks, which will be held between February 6 - June 2, 2023, with the aims of developing science awareness and literacy in our society and increasing the science communication of our society with the scientific world, have started. The Science Talks, initiated by TÜBİTAK Science and Society Presidency (BİTO) in 2014, are events consisting of approximately 1 - 1.5 hour presentations and Q&A sessions that bring together expert scientists in their fields with primary, secondary, and high school level students. In 2022, 863 Science Talks were held in 72 provinces with the participation of 531 scientists from 129 universities, reaching nearly 45,000 students.
Scientists who are faculty members at universities in Turkey or who work as lecturers or research assistants who have completed their PhD can apply as "Speakers".
Teachers/trainers working in state schools and science and art centers (BİLSEM) at primary, secondary, and high school levels affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, youth centers and youth offices affiliated with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, cultural centers, museums, and libraries affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, science centers supported by TÜBİTAK, and Deneyap Technology Workshops can apply to host Science Talks.
The deadline for speaker and host institution applications is November 21, 2022.
